"New technologies for sustainable development"

MELECON'2008

is a major international forum presenting design methodologies, techniques and experimental results in emerging electro-technologies related to sustainable development. It is one of the flagship conferences of the IEEE Region 8 with participants from all over the world. It is expected to bring together researchers and practitioners from different fields such as Control Systems, Information Systems, Mechatronics Systems, Nano- & Micro-Electronics Systems, Power Electrical Systems and Signal & Image Processing. It will include plenary sessions, regular technical sessions, special sessions and tutorials. Prospective authors are invited to submit their manuscripts reporting original work as well as proposals for special sessions (6 papers) and tutorials in the mentioned areas.

Regular papers : Submit provisional versions of full papers in English as indicated. Limitation to 6 full pages, including paper title, authors and affiliations, figures and references (maximum size 2MB). Authors are requested to prepare the manuscripts in the IEEE two-column format, using the template available in the MELECON'08 Website and to translate it in PDF using the IEEE PDF eXpress facility. No other format in the submission and in the final version can be accepted. The template has to be followed strictly since any paper submitted in a different form will not be reviewed.

Special sessions : The symposium will feature special sessions on topics of special interest. The proposal of a special session must provide the session name and a list of about 6 potential papers together with their digests. All special session papers will be reviewed in the usual way.

Tutorials : A tutorial is a shot course of 3 hours which can be proposed on the basis of title, lecturer(s) with photo(s) and short CV(s) and a set of a minimum of 5 slides (ppt or pdf formats) with the outline of the presentation and a content sample. All tutorial proposals will be reviewed under the leadership of the technical program co-chairs.
